The countries of Belgium, France, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain have already shown us how it works: A quota for women of 30 to 40% by law in the supervisory boardrooms. The coalition agreement of the new government in Germany demands that as of 2016, women should represent at least 30% of the members of supervisory boards of large listed companies. Moreover, as of 2015, large companies must define and publish their own binding targets for increasing the proportion of women in supervisory boards, management boards and top management levels.
